How Character Special Events Work

Train45 gates most companion CG scenes behind two requirements: a minimum affinity threshold and arrival at the correct terminal destination car with that companion active. Terminal events do not trigger if you enter the route alone or bring the wrong companion — the scene simply does not play, and you may need to revisit the terminal on a later chapter window.

Affinity increases through aligned dialogue, gift presentation at rest points, and successful investigations while companions observe your performance. Use our How to Raise Affinity guide and Affinity Tracker to hit thresholds before spending tickets on terminal routes.

Before entering any terminal code on the phone map, confirm you have the matching hint item or butler clue, meet the affinity requirement, and select the intended companion for the car sequence. Reina Takahashi Events

Reina's terminal scenes reward methodical players who maintain high affinity and bring her to the correct destination cars. See her full profile in the Reina Takahashi guide.

Reina's black swimsuit terminal CG specifically requires triggering through Mai's event chain before the Changing Room route becomes available — plan both companions' affinity on the same playthrough if you want both scene sets.

Mai Asakura Events

Mai's events emphasize bold terminal exploration and collaboration-car set pieces. Profile details live in the Mai Asakura guide.

Completing Mai's affinity 7 event unlocks the chain that leads to Reina's Swimsuit / Changing Room terminal. The Collaboration Car scene ties to Steam achievement A Man's Dream when requirements are met with Mai present.

Konial Events & True Ending Chain

Konial's events differ from romance-terminal scenes — they progress through the Copper Bracelet, investigation performance, and dedicated training beats rather than standard terminal affinity cars. Read the Konial guide and Endings overview for finale context.

Equip the Copper Bracelet (extends affection bonuses to Konial while worn) and clear anomalies during chapter six to raise Konial affinity. Each successful investigation grants +10 affection while the bracelet is equipped. At affinity level 2, Konial's level-two event fires and awards Xiao Ke OMEGA — mandatory for the hidden true ending.

Konial's training events interleave with main-story assignments and reveal ticket-economy lore. Remove the Copper Bracelet after obtaining Xiao Ke OMEGA so phone navigation works again before entering the mechanism room route (45 + 54 + 8 + 31). Pazuzu Events

Pazuzu's route blends story investigation beats with one major terminal scene. See the Pazuzu guide for dialogue strategies that preserve her affinity during truth-seeking choices.

• Window encounter — Early-route story event tied to Pazuzu observing anomalies through train windows; respond with integrity-focused dialogue to maintain affinity.
• Wallet recovery — Mid-campaign investigation beat requiring you to locate Pazuzu's lost wallet during assigned car sequences.
• Dark room rescue — Story-gated rescue sequence in a darkened car; failure to prioritize Pazuzu's safety can reduce affinity and lock later scenes.
• Punishment Car terminal — Route 33 + 36 + 41 (Club & Rope butler hint). Bring Pazuzu for her exclusive Punishment Car special event; first arrival grants +12 equipment capacity.

Butler (Owl) Affection & Shop Unlocks

The owl butler operates the ticket shop at rest points and sells route hints, key items, and affection-linked merchandise. Raising butler affection through repeated purchases and story interactions unlocks additional shop inventory — including terminal hint items for routes nine through nineteen that are not granted directly by story progression.

Priority purchases for event hunters include the Hot Spring Flyer, Pachinko Flyer, Broken Clock, Validated Ticket, and Club & Rope box hints. Each hint confirms a valid phone-map code and prevents wasted terminal attempts. Full item pricing and categories appear in the Items guide.

Butler affection events trigger at shop milestones and provide lore about Konial's operation aboard Train45. Patch v1.0.4.x corrected the owl butler voice respecting the Voice Volume slider — configure audio in our Controls guide if shop dialogue overpowers anomaly audio cues.

Replay Tips: Phone, Gallery & Upcoming Updates

Missed a story beat? Open the phone app → anomaly events tab and replay events numbered 0 through 7 sequentially — confirm each selection and depart to re-trigger the corresponding scene without restarting the chapter. Details in the Puzzles & Events guide.

After clearing the campaign on v1.0.4.2 or later, the title-screen Event Gallery adds a Ghost H page (Event Gallery → Next → Ghost H) for ghost-route scene review. Use gallery replay plus Free H pan mode (Ctrl or L3) to audit missing CG entries against the Achievements guide.

Elniko’s 27 July letter promised August 2026 event-dialogue replay. As of 20 August it is still not in the named Steam feed. Keep using phone events 0–7 and Event Gallery until Patch Note 4 exists. Patch Notes.
