Train45 Story Recollection Guide

Patch Note 4 (26 August 2026) adds Story Recollection to Train45, a comprehensive title-screen replay system accessible after completing the game. This guide covers access, features, Kazuya PoV, skip options, and how it compares to the Event Gallery.

What Is Story Recollection?

Story Recollection is Train45's new scene replay system introduced in Patch Note 4 (26 August 2026, Build 24773061). Accessible from the title screen after completing at least one playthrough, Story Recollection lets you revisit story scenes, companion events, and H-content without starting a new game or using the phone replay workaround.

Story Recollection builds directly on the foundation established by the Event Gallery (added in v1.0.4.2) but adds significant new functionality: Kazuya PoV perspective options and skip-to-content shortcuts that the community requested since launch.

The feature is located in the Recollection Room, which appears as a menu option on the title screen once you have completed the campaign at least once on a save file.

How to Access Story Recollection

From the Train45 title screen, select Recollection Room (回想室 / 回想房 / リコレクションルーム). This menu replaces or supersedes the previous Event Gallery shortcut for post-completion scene review.

Requirements to access the Recollection Room:

  • At least one completed playthrough (end credits reached) on the current save file
  • Game updated to Patch Note 4 or later (Build 24773061)
  • Save data with witnessed events present on the system

If the Recollection Room option does not appear, verify your game version via Steam (Properties → Update tab) and confirm you have reached the end credits at least once.

New Features: Kazuya PoV and Skip Options

Patch Note 4's two headline additions to the replay system:

Kazuya PoV: Some scenes now offer an alternate perspective option showing events from Kazuya's viewpoint. This applies primarily to companion interaction scenes where a second camera angle was recorded during development. Not all scenes have this option — it is scene-specific and noted in the selection menu.

Skip to Content: A new menu option lets you jump directly to scene content (H-scenes, key story beats) without sitting through ambient or transition segments. This addresses the community feedback that full-scene replays were tedious for users who only wanted to revisit specific moments.

These features were previewed in Elniko's June 2026 Patreon post as planned additions to the recollection system.

Story Recollection vs Event Gallery vs Phone Replay

Train45 now has three replay systems. Use each for different purposes:

  • Story Recollection (Patch Note 4): The primary title-screen system for comprehensive scene review with PoV and skip options. Best for revisiting completed scenes at any time.
  • Event Gallery (v1.0.4.2): The original in-game gallery. Still functional and remains the gallery for Ghost H access after true-ending clears. Continue using this for gallery completion tracking alongside Story Recollection.
  • Phone Replay (in-game): The anomaly event 0–7 system for replaying specific story moments without leaving your current playthrough. Used during active runs, not from the title screen.

Story Recollection does not remove or deprecate the Event Gallery — both systems coexist. Ghost H access remains through the Event Gallery navigation path (Event Gallery → Next page → Ghost H) on saves with true-ending completion.

Affection System Changes in Patch Note 4

Elniko's Patch Note 4 summary mentions rebalancing the affection system alongside the Story Recollection addition. Specifically, affection will be re-added as a mechanic — this refers to the rebalancing of how affinity bonuses function with the new replay and route systems.

The v1.0.2 update previously extended the Copper Bracelet bonus to include Konial and added the Spare Panties affection bonus for additional characters. Patch Note 4 continues this refinement of the affection economy as the replay systems expand.

For players using the Affinity Tracker or Ending Planner, no fundamental changes to affinity-gate logic for character events are expected — the rebalancing affects system-level mechanics rather than scene unlock conditions.

Using Story Recollection for Completion

Combine Story Recollection with the Achievements guide to systematically work through locked gallery entries:

  • Open Story Recollection and review available scenes — previously witnessed events from all playthroughs on the current save appear here
  • Use the skip-to-content option to isolate missing CG entries without watching full scene transitions
  • Check Ghost H availability through the Event Gallery path if you have true-ending clears
  • Cross-reference with the Character Events guide to understand which scenes require specific affinity thresholds

For scene identification, each entry in Story Recollection displays the scene name, chapter of origin, and any PoV/skip flags. Use this catalog to plan which playthrough branches you still need to fill gaps.
